NCDA&CS Home Processor Label Requirements
- NCDA Application Ready: North Carolina inspects home kitchens prior to opening. Having clear, printed labels showing full business address and ingredient order is a key requirement during the approval process.
- Farmers Market Bulk Placard Exemption: If you sell unpackaged individual items directly from behind a display counter at NC farmers markets, individual labels can be waived if a prominent sign/placard with all required details (lettering at least 1/4 inch high) is posted near the bulk display.
- Bold Allergen Formatting: Top major allergens must be declared in bold lettering at least as prominent as the main ingredient list.
